Indicative expected sub-results:
1.1.1 Review of the existing SPS legislation in cooperation with beneficiaries and preparation of gap analysis;
An update and complementation of existing legislation, regulatory texts and inspection standards is necessary in order to harmonize the national regulation with international SPS standards (EU, OIE, WTO).
A review of existing national legislation is carried out regarding:
- Animal health (including animal identification)
- Animal welfare
- Veterinary medicines
- Animal feed
- By-products
- Food safety
- Import / export conditions and border controls
- Other significant legislation as deemed necessary.
A gap analysis of the relevant legislation will be conducted. An assessment and a comparison of the national legislation with the EU requirements will be set up and a comparison chart will be drawn.
